Attendance Policy
”[Reading from syllabus:] Acceptable excuses for missing an exam include only official university excuses, with a note from an appropriate university official. [Puts syllabus down:] Also, the University says that my attendance policies do not hold if you think you have Swine Flu. Except for the final exam. You cannot miss that.”
I laughed at the flu caveat, as I had totally forgotten about Swine Flu until today. And then I realized that every single seat in the lecture hall was full. Oh shit, I thought, who’s going to be Swine-Flu-Asshole0?
